The JL Audio FiX™ 86 is a digital signal processor (DSP) designed for integrating aftermarket audio equipment with factory-installed sound systems. It automatically corrects time delays and equalization issues present in many OEM (original equipment manufacturer) audio outputs. The FiX 86 takes up to eight differential-balanced inputs, synchronizes any time delays, sums band-limited signals, and equalizes the resulting full-range signals. OEM Integration:
The FIX-86 is specifically designed to work with factory-installed audio systems, allowing users to upgrade their sound without replacing the factory head unit.
Automatic Calibration:
It features automatic time correction and digital equalization, simplifying the setup process. Calibration is achieved by pressing a button and playing a calibration track, taking about 30 seconds.
8-Channel Inputs:
The FIX-86 accepts up to 8 input signals from the factory system, allowing it to handle complex multi-channel setups.
4+2 Channel Outputs:
It provides 4 channels of full-range stereo output (front left/right, rear left/right) and 2 subwoofer outputs, enabling a wide range of aftermarket amplification and speaker configurations.
Frequency Response Correction:
The FIX-86 automatically equalizes the audio signal, flattening the frequency response and creating a clean, balanced sound.
Maintains Fade Control:
Unlike some OEM integration products, the FIX-86 allows users to maintain the factory fader control, adjusting the balance between front and rear speakers.
While calibration is straightforward, the FIX-86 can also be used with JL Audio's TuN software, providing more advanced control over equalization and other settings.
